School and Preschool Psychologist
As a psychologist in schools and preschools in Halmstad municipality, your workplace is at the Resource Center Kärnhuset in central Halmstad.
You will collaborate with colleagues from various professions within the central child and student health services to provide support to schools and preschools in their promotional, preventive, and remedial work. Your work will also largely involve collaboration with principals, local student health teams, and staff at our units.
Your Responsibilities
The assignment involves a variety of tasks that allow you to utilize your full psychological competence with a focus on preventive and health-promoting student health work. Examples of such work include:
- Participation in local units' student health teams where issues at the individual, group, and organizational levels are raised
- Consultations with staff individually as well as in teams - in schools and preschools regarding children/students who challenge or raise questions in various ways
- Professional development for staff in schools and preschools
Development of both the psychological assignment in schools and preschools as well as the development of the organization as a whole
- Psychological assessment in cases concerning admission to adapted primary school
Your Qualifications
You have a degree from the psychology program.
In your work, you are flexible and unpretentious, thrive in a dynamic environment, and enjoy collaborating in interdisciplinary teams.
You are structured and efficient, with a good ability to plan, prioritize, and create clarity in your tasks. You feel comfortable working on multiple levels, from individual and group work to interventions at the school and organizational level. You contribute critical thinking, analysis, and reflection combined with collaboration skills and humility for other perspectives and competencies.
A driver's license and access to a car are required.

We Offer You
The psychology group currently consists of nine psychologists in service. Psychological leadership responsibility (PLA) is a function within the group. You will receive a structured introduction followed by continuous supervision from an external supervisor. As part of the psychology group, you will also have the opportunity for collegial supervision and support, in fixed meeting formats as well as through open doors over a cup of coffee. You have great opportunities to influence your working hours within the framework of the flexible working agreement and the execution of the assignments you work on.

There is a tradition in the organization of having psychologists who complete their PTP service, and the psychology group has experience in supervising according to the guidelines of the Swedish Psychological Association and the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding PTP service. Treatment is not part of the assignment as a psychologist in schools and preschools in Halmstad Municipality; within the framework of PTP service, this part of the practice is fulfilled through collaboration with primary care to meet the requirements for licensure.

If you are offered employment within the Child and Youth Administration, you are required to present a clean extract from the Police Criminal Record for work in schools/preschools. The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, order in good time!
